Govt Consultation into Safeguarding Access to Cash

The Government has launched a consultation into safeguarding access to cash. This is incredibly important as although the use of cash is declining it “remains crucial for groups across the UK - including the elderly and vulnerable.”

The Government is exploring options including allowing people to get cashback in shops without having to buy anything and potentially giving the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) responsibility for ensuring the cash system benefits consumers and SMEs.
