Launch of Global Partnership to Fight Future Pandemics

The Government has announced the launch of a new Pandemic Preparedness Partnership (PPP) to 'save lives fromfuturte diseases and prevent another global pandemic'.

The PPP will support the Prime Minister's target to reduce the time to develop vaccines for new diseases to 100 days.

- To be chaired by UK Chief Scientific Adviser Sir Patrick Vallance.
- Reporting to leaders at June's G7 summit.
- Public-private partnership bringing together industry, international organisations and leading experts.
- £16 million investment fund will fund global vaccine manufacturing capacity, and critical research and development.
- 20 members of the PPP including WHO Vaccine Envoy Sir Andrew Witty.
